Robotics Startup Bootcamp

Launching a robotics company, as well as growing and scaling one, presents innovators with many challenges. RoboBusiness, which runs Oct. 19-20 in Santa Clara, is here to help with a Robotics Startup Bootcamp designed to provide tips of the trade to leaders of young companies.

Taking place between 3-5 PM on Oct. 19, the two-part Robotics Startup Bootcamp is being organized by MassRobotics and will cover the major stages in startup formation, as well as information specific to the various departments all businesses must have. Topics include legal formation, stock options and patents, dilutive and non-dilutive investments, the path to manufacturing, best practices in accounting, and bringing on marketing, sales, & HR experts, as well as fundraising & exits.

  • Design for manufacturing and scaling: opportunities & pitfalls

Maryanna Saenko, co-founder and partner of Future Ventures, will be discussing “How to Attract Funding as an Early-Stage Startup” between 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM on Oct. 19. In this session, Saenko will review the questions she asks herself about founders and their companies before she decides to invest in them. As an early investor in SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, Planet, and Skype, Saenko has a track record of successfully picking the right companies and founders. With a deep background in robotics, including a MS from Cornell in Materials Science and Engineering, she has a keen understanding of the robotics world, and has investments in the space.

RoboBusiness will be co-located with the Field Robotics Engineering Forum, an international conference and exposition designed to provide engineers, engineering management, business professionals and others with information about how to successfully develop and safely deploy the next generation of field robotics systems for operation in wide-ranging, outdoor, dynamic environments.
